Aloo paratha

Aloo Paratha is a bread dish originating from the Indian subcontinent. The recipe is one of the most popular breakfast dishes throughout western, central and northern regions of India as well as in Pakistan. Aloo parathas consist of unleavened dough rolled with a mixture of mashed potato and spices, which is cooked on a hot tawa with butter or ghee. Aloo paratha is usually served with butter, chutney, or Indian pickles in different parts of northern and western India.

Bhatoora is a fluffy deep-fried leavened bread originating from the Indian subcontinent. Variations include aloo bhatura and paneer bhatura. It is often eaten with chickpea curry, chole or channe, making the traditional dish chole bhature. This bread is like the puri bread but is made with leavened dough.

Chwee kueh is a type of steamed rice cake with preserved radish. Chwee kueh is a popular breakfast item in Singapore and Johor. It is a part of Teochew cuisine, eaten in China, Singapore, Johor, Malaysia and certain places in Southeast Asia. To make chwee kueh, rice flour and water are mixed together to form a slightly viscous mixture. They are then placed in small cup-shaped containers that look like saucers and steamed, forming a characteristic bowl-like shape when cooked. The rice cakes are topped with diced preserved radish and served with chilli sauce.


Egg bhurji

Egg bhurji is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is often confused with scrambled eggs and the Parsi dish akuri. The difference lies in its preparation and addition of sauteed chopped onions, chilies and optional spices. It is usually served with rotis or naan or pav/bread in Mumbai.
